Divas by Design - Anything Goes

Good morning everyone...

I'm back today with another challenge for you over at Divas by Design.
This week we have a nice and easy challenge for you, it's
Anything Goes.

We're sponsored this week by Whimsy Shape EZ Templates. The design team were given a couple of templates to play with so pop on over and see the other fabulous creations by my teamies.

I chose the Gift Pouch, which I've decorated with rolled roses, flowers, stamped leaves and ribbon. The centre has a big die cut 18 and I'm going to pop something in for Leonie which I've made for her Birthday. You'll have to wait until the end of March to see it. I can hardly believe that she's almost 18. Where does the time go!

For the main body of the box I printed a paper from Nitwits Crabappletoo collection onto thick card and cut out the template by hand. If you're lucky enough to have an electronic cutter then the template comes with files that can be used to do it for you automatically.

Dies Used:

Die-Namics By the numbers
Spellbinders Classic Scallops
Memory Box Small Pinwheel
Marianne Design English Rose LR0162 and Leaves LR0156

The box is fastened together with a velcro circle.

Thanks for dropping by and I'm looking forward to seeing all your lovely creations. Hope you can join us.

Happy Crafting,
Hugs, Janine xx

Anything Goes # 87 - Very Manly (Boys/Men)

Good morning Blogger friends...

It's time for another challenge over at Anything Goes and this fortnight our theme is "Very Manly", so we want to see your cards for men or boys.

I've chosen a couple of digi images from Make It Crafty, they are Flying Balloon Contraption and Annabelle.
This has to be my most ambitious colouring so far. They've both been coloured with Copics and I'm really pleased with the outcome. I lost count of how long they took me to colour, but it must be over 3 hours!

Copics Used:

Skin: E11, E00, E000, E0000, R30
Greens: YG99, YG95, YG93, C7
Smoke: C3, C1, C0, C00
Browns: E44, E43, E42, E41, E40
Yellows: Y38, Y35, Y21, Y00

Clouds/Sky: BG000, B91, C1, C0, C00

The sprockets have been cut using Spellbinders 'Sprightly Sprockets' and the tags are 'Ribbon Tags Trio'.
The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley

I'm really pleased with how the card's turned out and my Hubby was so chuffed to receive it for his recent Birthday.

Hope you are able to join us this fortnight. Just think you could make a father's day card super early!
Why not pop over to see what Lynne has got in The Craft Den to add to your creation.

Something a Little Different...

Good evening everyone...

I know I've been missing for a few days but I've been making something for Leonie's 18th birthday which I can't show you just yet. Her birthday is not until the end of March, but she follows my blog so I can't post it yet.

Tonight I've got something a little different to show you.
It's a Shamballa bracelet.

I really enjoyed making this and it didn't take too long to make either.
The picture really doesn't do it justice. I really must learn how to take better photos. I have a lightbox and daylight bulbs, but they still don't turn out right!

Leonie has already asked for a purple one and I'm going to make a turquoise one for her to give to a friend for her 18th. Hopefully it's something she will keep that will remind her of Leonie in years to come.

The beads were all bought from Beads Direct.  They have a great video to follow on how to make it. Youtube is just fantastic for learning things! My attention was first drawn to this site by Marcea Watkins who has made some lovely jewellery which she has posted on her blog. She has just started a monthly jewellery blog challenge called Beading Friends Forever. Pop on over, but beware you may become hooked on a 2nd hobby!!!

Not sure that I'll manage much crafting this weekend. Brandon has Yorkshire Swimming Championships again this weekend. I'm taking him tomorrow and a friend is taking him on Sunday. Unfortunately Sunday will be spent ironing.

Hope you have a great weekend and manage to sneak in some crafting.

Thank you so much for taking the time to pop by and I really appreciate any comments which you leave. I love to read them.

Happy Crafting,
Hugs, Janine xx

Love is in the Air...

Hi blogger friends...

Well unless you've been on another planet the last few days then you'll know that Love is definitely in the air!
Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I've made my Hubby a Valentine's Day card using one of Mo Manning's fabulous images. I bought quite a few before Christmas, but never got round to using them (Shh Don't tell him!). This one is called 'Ragged Romance'

I've used some lovely Pion papers which I bought recently (Rose Frame & Homing Pigeons). I'd seen lots of beautiful creations made with them and I just couldn't resist (hehe) They're even prettier in real life - I'll definitely be buying more.

The image is coloured with my usual Copics. Here's a closer look.

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, R21
Boys Hair: E70, E71, E74, E77, E79
Girls Hair: E50, E53, E43, E57
Beige: E40, E41, E42, E43
Peachy Pink: R20, R21, R22, R24
Grey: C0, C1, C3, C5
Boots: E70, E71, E74
Shadow: W00, W0, W1, W3

The inside of the card has been decorated with the same Pion papers and has some cute cherubs, so appropriate for Valentine's.

I've used a number of dies to embellish the card along, with some rhinestone lace and seam binding from Live and Love Crafts.

The dies used are:-
DooHickey: So wrapped lovely heart, Leaf & Swirl, Heart swirl branch.
Marianne Designs: English Rose, Lamp &Leaf
Memory Box: Small Pinwheel Posie

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Anything Goes #86 - Vintage

Good morning Blogger friends...

It's Tuesday again so that means it's time for another challenge over at Anything Goes, and this fortnight our theme is Vintage.

I've never made a card that you could strictly call Vintage before. Boy did I have fun making this. It certainly won't be the last, that's for sure.

I've kept the colour scheme very much in beiges and sepia tones. Everything has been distressed with Walnut Stain to create that aged feel and the paper has also had its edges distressed using a Tim Holtz distressing tool.

The image is from Moonlight Magic Free Images where you can download lots of vintage style images for free. It did seem odd making a card with an image that I didn't have to colour!

The image is mounted onto a Nestie Floral Oval die cut, the swirls were cut using DooHickey Heart swirl branch and the Vintage bird cage is from Poppystamps. The film strip is  from Tim Holtz.
Papers are Raspberry Road 'Moments in Time'

Here is a compilation showing a close up of some of the detail.

Hope that you can join us over at Anything Goes this fortnight. I'm looking forward to seeing and commenting on  your lovely creations.

If you're in need of some more craft stash why not pop over to The Craft Den and see what you can find.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Thanks for dropping by and any comments which you may leave.

Best Mate After Chocolate !

Hello blogger friends.

Firstly I just want to give a warm welcome to my new followers. I hope you enjoy coming to visit and hopefully get some inspiration along the way. I love to read all the comments that you leave and I appreciate them very much. xx

Hope your having a super weekend with lots of crafting going on.  Not much crafting for me this weekend. Too much ironing and ferrying the children around.

It's Chinese New Year today...so Happy New Year!

GUNG HEI FAT CHOY!

My card today is not a Chinese New Year card but an 18th Birthday card I made for Leonie's best friend Laura. I suppose it was a bit of a commissioned card. Leonie chose the image , the papers and the colour scheme. The jury's out on this one for me. It's much brighter than my usual cards.

I followed Tina's sketch over at Live and Love crafts and made the card 8x8 so we didn't have to squash it all in. The little BMAC pennants stand for Best Mate After Chocolate which is how they refer to each other. It's a bit of an in joke, so Leonie wanted it on the card.

The image is 'Secrets', a Saturated Canary image and has been coloured with Copics.

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, R11
Pinks: RV000, R81, R83, R85
Greens: G20, YG03, YG05 and G20, G21, G24
Browns: E40, E41, E42, E43
Grey/White: C00, C0,C1
Cans: C0, C1, C3, C5

The '18' and the little heart charm were made using shrink plastic. Leonie painted these and shrunk them. She's always loved shrink plastic. I don't think the fun of shrinking things ever stops.

I would like to enter my (our) card into the following challenges:

Live & Love Crafts #8 - Tina's Sketch
Brown Sugar Challenge #28 - Anything Goes
Crafty Ribbons Challenge #38 - Anything Goes with Ribbon
Moving Along with the Times - Only Girls Allowed
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Ok I'm off now for a 150 mile round trip to pick up Frazer from his Volleyball training weekend. May get some time to craft this evening. Fingers crossed!

Happy Crafting,
Hugs, Janine xx

Divas by Design - Things with Wings...

Good morning blogger friends...

This morning I'm here to show you my very first DT card for Divas by Design
I was asked to join the team a couple of weeks ago and I'm so excited. I'm really enjoying the challenge of being on design teams. It kinda focuses my mind. Otherwise I'd just be looking at everyone else's wonderful cards and Youtube videos.

This week our challenge is Winged Things and we are sponsored by Teri over at Delicious Doodles.
If you've not been to visit the Delicious Doodles site I highly recommend that you do. Teri has a wide variety of digi stamps for all tastes at very reasonable prices.

Another Banner, but more elegant!

For this challenge I chose Fairy Fae. She was a joy to colour.

The card has an overall distressed feel about it. I roughed up the edges of the papers using a Tim Holtz distressing tool and inked them with Walnut stain. The papers are by Raspberry Road and are from their Victorian Bliss & Sweetbriar collections.

Copics Used:

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, R11
Hair: E00, E11, E13, E15, E18
Wings: BG70, BG72, C0 didn't like the shade so went over with BG90 & BG93
Eyes: BG90, BG93, BG96
Butterflies: YR00, YR02, YR07, YR09, Y11, Y15, Y17, E33, BG90, BG93, BG96, YG67 plus black jellyroll pen for the dots.

The sentiment is made using a stamp I've had for years. It's by Hampton Art Studio 'Diffusion' range.
The large butterflies are made using the Tim Holtz On the Edge Butterflight die and the small butterflies are an EK success punch. The flowers are from my stash and the leaves were made using a DooHickey Leaf die.

I've added a compilation pic just to show some of the detail.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

The Crafting Cafe #1 - Anything Goes
Bunny Zoe's  Crafts - Anything Goes
Wild Orchid Crafts - Anything Goes (Gardenias & Cherry Blossom WOC)

I do hope that you can join us this week. I'm looking forward to seeing all the wonderful entries.

Until next time...Happy crafting.

Hugs,
Janine xx
