Hobby House Midway Reminder

Good morning everyone. Hope you had a good week and are enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend especially as it's lovely and sunny.....yay!

I'm back with a midway reminder for The Hobby House and our challenge this month is

to use a new topper

As always the winner will receive a fabulous Hobby House voucher

I've used a lovely image from the 'Quiet Moments' topper, which is a beautiful Elizabeth Bell image.

I'm really pleased with the final card but unfortunately the photos don't do it justice.

The card base has been cut using a Go Kreate XXL Frilly #2 die and was covered with Nitwits 'Thimbles Too' papers.

The majority of the embellishments are all available from The Hobby House :-
Lace, Raspberry flowers, Cotton reel, Flatback pearls, ribbon, Pearl medallion and Bird Cage charm.

The leaf die is Joy crafts 6003/0027 and the rolled flowers are Dienamics Rolled Daisy and Marianne Creatables LR0163.

Here's a closer look at the topper.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges :-

Delightful Sketches - Bloom (include a flower)
Scrappers Delight - Bloomin' Lovely
Cards Galore - Include your favourite colour (Pink)

Have a lovely long weekend.

Hobby House Inspiration

Good morning everyone....

Hope you've had a lovely weekend, I was working most of it, so I haven't had a chance to craft. I'm working today too, so play time will have to wait until tomorrow.

I haven't had a chance to catch up on my blogging but I'm hoping to visit you in the middle of the week.

Today I have a little inspiration from The Hobby House. It's using another of their lovely toppers. So handy when you're pressed for time.

The card base has been cut using a Go Kreate Frilly #10 die and covered with papers from Raspberry Road's Timeless Victorian paper collection.

I've cut cream card out with a variety of dies and edged them with vintage photo.
Dies : DooHickey Events Flag & Dragonflies and Marianne Design Craftables CR1245.

The little sentiment on the flag is from a Whimsy stamp collection called Treasured Moments Tickets. These are available from The Hobby House along with the mulberry roses and cherry blossoms.

Here's a close up of the lovely Hobby House topper. They're just so easy to use and give great results.

I've used a double layer of die cut for the dragonflies and flags to give them a little dimension, you can just about see it from this angle.

Have a lovely weekend.

Happy Crafting.

Easter or Spring over at Divas by Design

Good morning everyone...

Hope you're having a lovely day and enjoying the sunshine. It's school holidays and spring is definitely in the air. Unfortunately I no longer get the school holidays off with my new job, but because it's shifts I'll still be able to spend some time with my family :-)

We have a new challenge over at

and this week our challenge is appropriately

Spring or Easter

I've gone for a spring feel using one of The Hobby House's new toppers. I've used 'Emily' from the Little Friends topper by Wee Stamps.

I'm still settling into my new job and have lots of training to do so craft time is sparse. I've been using lots of these lovely toppers, but am really missing my colouring. I signed up for the Kit and Clowder online classes but haven't managed to start yet :-(

Card Ingredients :-

Paper - Raspberry Road Timeless Victorian

Dies - DooHickey So wrapped lovely heart, Vintage Daisies & Heart fence
Cheery Lynn Lace Corner Deco F & English Tea Party Doily
Joy Craft Leaves 6003/0001
La La Land Heart Banner

Brad, Pearls and Lace from The Hobby House

I kept the embellishments fairly plain because I needed to post my card. Shocking how much postage is!

Hope you can join us to be in with a chance of winning a great prize from this weeks sponsors

Remember to pop on over to the challenge blog to see some fab inspiration from my teamies.

Thanks for stopping by and all the lovely comments you leave. It means so much.

Big Hugs,
Janine xx

Divas by Design - Buttons and Bows

Good morning everyone ....

It's been a very long time since I last posted and visited your blogs :-(

For the last month I have been working my notice at my old part-time job and working some shifts in my new (almost) full-time job.  I have now finished at my old work place and am settling into my new role, however, there's lots to learn and lots of training. I've been job hunting for the past 6 months, so with all that behind me I'm hoping that over the coming weeks I'll be able to do a bit more crafting and visit you more often :-)

So on to our new challenge over at Divas by Design
and we're looking for

Buttons and Bows

We're sponsored this week by Iva Nova Chest

For my little bit of buttons and bows inspiration I've used a Hobby House topper from the Wee Stamps sheet Rosetta to make my card.

The little hearts around the image are all tiny little buttons, which I've had for ages and the papers and seed packets are by Pion.

The doily is a Cheery Lynn die 'English Tea Party' and I've also used the DooHickey 'Heart Swirl Branch'. The flowers are a mixture of WOC and The Hobby House. For the bow I've used ribbon from Mei Flower and tied the bow with my Bow-It-All.

I've got a few cards to show you that I've made for DT challenges and just not had enough time to blog, so I'll be showing those over the next couple of weeks.

Bye for now.

Happy Crafting

Hobby House Inspiration - Bluebell Wood

Good morning...

I'm back with a little Hobby House inspiration for you today

The image is from the Bluebell Wood topper sheet available at The Hobby House. These toppers are so useful when you don't have the time to colour up an image for a card

The card base is a Go Kreate Filly #5 XXL Die and is covered with Nitwits 'Petal Fresh' papers. I don't normally work with blues but really love the crisp fresh look it's given.

The dies are Marianne Creatables English Rose, La La Land Folding Banner, Die-namics Rolled Daisy and Memory Box's Small Pinwheel Posie and Joy Crafts 6003/0023 Butterfly.

The blue brad, flatback pearls, white cherry blossoms and ribbon are all available from The Hobby House.

And here's a close up of that cute topper.

Have a lovely day and thank you for visiting.

Big Hugs,
Janine xx

Hobby House Midway Reminder

Good morning crafting friends, I hope you have a lovely weekend planned.

I'm here to remind you that we're half way through our February challenge so you still have plenty of time to enter our current challenge, which is a nice easy

Anything Goes

You can enter a maximum of 3 times and all you need to do is use at least 1 Hobby House product and mention it in your post

I've used the pretty new topper by Elizabeth Bell called 'Quiet Moments'. They're a lovely combination os pinks, browns and greens - my favourite!

The papers are Nitwits 'Always and Forever' and have been matted onto kraft. The pretty double bow has been made on my bow-it-all (my new favourite gadget) using Hobby House ribbons and a pearl medallion. Unfortunately the photo doesn't really show up the pearl swirl very well. I've also used HH vintage lace and roses as well as flatbacked pearls on the corners.

This is such a pretty topper set and just right for spring, which is hopefully just around the corner.

The die cuts used are Marianne Creatables LR0151, EK success Rock Fern (hiding under the pink rose!) and Cheery Lynn's Kiwi Doily.

Happy Crafting,

Big Hugs,

With Love

Now it can be anything to do with Love. It doesn't have to be a Valentine it could be Weddings or Anniversaries, anything to do with Love.

My card today has been made using Heart Key Marci from La La Land and I've used lots of new La La Land dies which I bought recently too. I really enjoyed making it and I hope my DH will like it when he receives it on Friday!

The design papers are Pion's 'Roses' and all the dies have been edged with vintage photo. On the lace I stuck little rhinestones to give it a bit more bling and the little hearts were leftovers from some die cuts which I coloured with Copics. Hobby House Inspiration - Love Trip

Good morning ...

It's almost the weekend, I hope you've got something nice planned. I'm off with my son to a swimming gala on Sunday so I'll probably be doing all my chores on Saturday :-(

I'm back today to show you a little Hobby House inspiration. Our challenge this month is to

Use Ribbon

I have used Wee stamps Love Trip.
The card has been made using a Whimsy die called Double Scallop Doily Die which I threaded the ribbon through. I got this cool idea from Dorinda who posted her tag on facebook. That got me thinking that I could use my die to make a circular card.

The image has been coloured with my usual copics.
When life slows down a bit (lol) I'm going to have another go with my distress inks. I love the soft effect of these but at the moment I don't get the same results and haven't got the time to throw away half coloured images.

Copics used:
Flowers : R81, R83, R85  YR21, YR23 RV91, RV93, RV95, RV99
Balloon : W3, W1, W0, W00  R85, R83, R81
Basket : E21, E23, E25, E29
Bugs : W00, W0, W1, W3, W5 RV000, R11, R22, R24, R27 C5, C7, C9
Sky and Clouds : C00, C0, C1, Blender, B000

Here's a picture of the lovely Hobby House ribbon bow. I've just treated myself to a Bow-It-All using some Christmas money and it's so much easier than wrapping it around your fingers to make the bow! Here I've made a double layered double bow.

Hobby House products

Love Trip image available as part of the Peggy and Friends topper

That's all from me today. Have a lovely weekend.

The Hobby House Midway Reminder

Good morning blogging friends...

Today is the midway reminder for the

and this month's theme is

You can enter the challenge up to 3 times so long as you use at least one Hobby House item which is mentioned in your post and linked back to the item on the website.

Don't forget to pop on over to the challenge blog to see all the fabulous inspiration from the other girls on the team. They have come up with some fabulous and varied creations to help inspire you.

Having seen some of their projects I thought I would try something other than a card and this is what I came up with!

I made a shamballa style bracelet using 3mm ribbon. The technique is the same and there's a really helpful video on the Beads Direct website.

I know, I know, not very classy using a loo roll to photograph it on, but that's all I could think of to use!

The centre heart is a HH charm which I just cut the loop off using wire cutters and the ends of the ribbon are just finished off with little starburst spacers. Jill doesn't appear to have this particular heart, but she has a number of others including double hearts which would look lovely.

Thanks to all my lovely visitors who take the time to leave me such kind and thoughtful comments. This way I can also drop by your blog in return.

Have a lovely weekend.

Happy Crafting,

and this week our theme is

'Use Ribbon'

That should be a nice easy one to help to ease you back into your crafting after all the Christmas and New Year festivities.

I've used a lovely image from Wee Stamps called Ruby and made the base of the card from a Go Kreate die (Frilly#10).

Sorry about the quality of the photos, I even tried faffing about with it in photoscape - but they still don't give a true representation of the card.

Ruby has been colour with my usual copics.

Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E11, E13, E21, E93
Hair : E40, E42, E43, E44, E47

Hobby House Inspiration

Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and are looking forward to a Happy and Crafty 2014.

Sorry I've been MIA recently, but with the extra demands on my time in the run up to Christmas both at home and at work I just haven't had the time to blog and craft.

I'm hoping now that my 'normal' routine has resumed I'll be able to get organised and fit in more crafting.
I haven't specifically made any resolutions, but I think getting organised and less procrastination is definitely  something I need to work on!

Anyway after all that rambling I'm here to show you my inspiration piece for the Hobby House.
It's one of my Christmas cards. I still didn't make enough! My intention is to enter a Christmas card challenge every month, that way I'll have at least 12 next Christmas!

The image is Winter Fairy from Wee Stamps and has been coloured in copics. I used Go Kreate's Frilly #5 to create the base shape of the card and the papers are from Craftwork Cards' Christmas Post 8x8 pad.

Dies used:

Marianne Creatables Christmas Tree, Fence & Bird
Poppy Stamps birdcage
DooHickey tag

Copics used:

Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E11, E21, E93
Hair: E43, E44, E47, E49
Wings: E81, E84, E87, E50, E51, E53
Fur: E43, E42, E41, E40
Boots: E89, E87, E84, E81
Reds: T5, R39, R29, R27, R24, R22
Leaves: YG97, YG95, YG93, YG91

Hobby House products:

Wee Stamps Winter Fairy (available as a topper too)
Pearl String

Whilst I'm here I'd just like to let you know we have a new challenge over on our challenge blog and this month the theme is

You don't have to make a card, your project just needs to have ribbon on it. Why not pop on over to our Challenge Blog and have a look at the wonderful inspiration from the team.

Just remember, to be in with a chance of winning £25 worth of Hobby House products you must mention the Hobby House product you've used on your project and pop a link to the item on our website,

Looking forward to seeing all your lovely creations!
