Hobby House Inspiration

Good morning everyone....

Hope you've had a lovely weekend, I was working most of it, so I haven't had a chance to craft. I'm working today too, so play time will have to wait until tomorrow.

I haven't had a chance to catch up on my blogging but I'm hoping to visit you in the middle of the week.

Today I have a little inspiration from The Hobby House. It's using another of their lovely toppers. So handy when you're pressed for time.

The card base has been cut using a Go Kreate Frilly #10 die and covered with papers from Raspberry Road's Timeless Victorian paper collection.

I've cut cream card out with a variety of dies and edged them with vintage photo.
Dies : DooHickey Events Flag & Dragonflies and Marianne Design Craftables CR1245.

The little sentiment on the flag is from a Whimsy stamp collection called Treasured Moments Tickets. These are available from The Hobby House along with the mulberry roses and cherry blossoms.

Here's a close up of the lovely Hobby House topper. They're just so easy to use and give great results.

I've used a double layer of die cut for the dragonflies and flags to give them a little dimension, you can just about see it from this angle.

Have a lovely weekend.

Happy Crafting.

Hobby House Inspiration - Bluebell Wood

Good morning...

I'm back with a little Hobby House inspiration for you today

The image is from the Bluebell Wood topper sheet available at The Hobby House. These toppers are so useful when you don't have the time to colour up an image for a card

The card base is a Go Kreate Filly #5 XXL Die and is covered with Nitwits 'Petal Fresh' papers. I don't normally work with blues but really love the crisp fresh look it's given.

The dies are Marianne Creatables English Rose, La La Land Folding Banner, Die-namics Rolled Daisy and Memory Box's Small Pinwheel Posie and Joy Crafts 6003/0023 Butterfly.

The blue brad, flatback pearls, white cherry blossoms and ribbon are all available from The Hobby House.

And here's a close up of that cute topper.

Have a lovely day and thank you for visiting.

Hobby House Inspiration - Love Trip

Good morning ...

It's almost the weekend, I hope you've got something nice planned. I'm off with my son to a swimming gala on Sunday so I'll probably be doing all my chores on Saturday :-(

I'm back today to show you a little Hobby House inspiration. Our challenge this month is to

Use Ribbon

I have used Wee stamps Love Trip.
The card has been made using a Whimsy die called Double Scallop Doily Die which I threaded the ribbon through. I got this cool idea from Dorinda who posted her tag on facebook. That got me thinking that I could use my die to make a circular card.

The image has been coloured with my usual copics.
When life slows down a bit (lol) I'm going to have another go with my distress inks. I love the soft effect of these but at the moment I don't get the same results and haven't got the time to throw away half coloured images.

Copics used:
Flowers : R81, R83, R85  YR21, YR23 RV91, RV93, RV95, RV99
Balloon : W3, W1, W0, W00  R85, R83, R81
Basket : E21, E23, E25, E29
Bugs : W00, W0, W1, W3, W5 RV000, R11, R22, R24, R27 C5, C7, C9
Sky and Clouds : C00, C0, C1, Blender, B000

Here's a picture of the lovely Hobby House ribbon bow. I've just treated myself to a Bow-It-All using some Christmas money and it's so much easier than wrapping it around your fingers to make the bow! Here I've made a double layered double bow.

Love Trip image available as part of the Peggy and Friends topper

That's all from me today. Have a lovely weekend.

Hobby House Inspiration

Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and are looking forward to a Happy and Crafty 2014.

Sorry I've been MIA recently, but with the extra demands on my time in the run up to Christmas both at home and at work I just haven't had the time to blog and craft.

I'm hoping now that my 'normal' routine has resumed I'll be able to get organised and fit in more crafting.
I haven't specifically made any resolutions, but I think getting organised and less procrastination is definitely  something I need to work on!

Anyway after all that rambling I'm here to show you my inspiration piece for the Hobby House.
It's one of my Christmas cards. I still didn't make enough! My intention is to enter a Christmas card challenge every month, that way I'll have at least 12 next Christmas!

The image is Winter Fairy from Wee Stamps and has been coloured in copics. I used Go Kreate's Frilly #5 to create the base shape of the card and the papers are from Craftwork Cards' Christmas Post 8x8 pad.

Dies used:

Marianne Creatables Christmas Tree, Fence & Bird
Poppy Stamps birdcage
DooHickey tag

Copics used:

Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E11, E21, E93
Hair: E43, E44, E47, E49
Wings: E81, E84, E87, E50, E51, E53
Fur: E43, E42, E41, E40
Boots: E89, E87, E84, E81

Hobby House Inspiration

Good morning everyone...

It's time for a little Hobby House inspiration today, and I've created a little gift box instead of my usual cards.

Sorry the photos are very good, it looks much better in real life, lol.

The papers are Craftwork cards 'Christmas Post' which give a lovely vintage feel to the project. I've used the sentiment image from The Hobby House's 'Winter Fairy' topper sheet.

The lid was simply decorated with Poinsettia flowers, some Snowtex and edged with one of The Hobby House's lovely pearl strings. I love adding these to projects, they just look so pretty.

Each side of the box was decorated differently.

Top right uses Marianne Creatables LR0136 Christmas tree and was finished with some pearls and Snowtex

Bottom left is simply a let it snow stamp, which has been cut out and fixed on with foam pads.

Bottom right has a 'Silent Night' sentiment from Whimsy Stamps and was cut using their Dainty Notables Die.

The box itself was just cut from a 12 x 12 piece of kraft card and scored so that it just folds together and is all held in place by its lid. I copied the design from a Tesco Belgium Truffle box which I kept because I loved the simplicity of its design. Truffles are long since gone :) !!

Just to let you know...

This month The Hobby House isn't having it's usual challenge. Jill, the owner, wanted to do something a little different in the run up to Christmas.

For full details please visit The Hobby House Challenge Blog.

Basically though you can enter this event with anything you've made, that hasn't already been showcased on our Hobby House Inpspiration Blog, and be in with a chance to win a fabulous prize!

All we ask is that your project contains a Hobby House topper.

Thank You so much for dropping by and for all your lovey comments, I really do appreciate them.

Happy Crafting,

Hobby House Inspiration

Good afternoon blogging friends...

Better late than never, so the saying goes. I had such a busy weekend that I forgot to schedule my inspiration post for The Hobby House. Anyway without further ado here it is...

This card is cut using a Go Kreate XXL die (Frilly #5). I love making cards that aren't square, it just gives them that bit more interest.

I've used a lovely topper from the Winter Fairy sheet, isn't he cute! I remember when my children used to write long lists to Santa. That was when Christmas was magical. Now with 3 teenagers they just want taxi driving to parties!!

The trees have been cut using a Marianne Creatable tree die LR0136 and the heart tag is by Magnolia. The roses, cherry blossoms, pearl string , flatback pearls and frantage are all available from The Hobby House. To finish off I've used a little dab of Snowtex here and there.

That's it from me today. Just don't seem to be enough hours in the day at the moment.

Happy Crafting.

Hobby House- Inspirational Post

Good morning Blogging friends...

Today I'm here to show you the last piece that I made for my pre DT selection over at
The Hobby House

Isn't he such a cute little squirrel !
He's from the Bluebell Wood topper sheet and he's been mounted using one of the Hobby House die cut mat and layer kits. They co-ordinate beautifully with the toppers so you don't need to try and find papers to match.

The flowers are mulberry roses and a rolled daisy cut using a Die-namics die. The leaves are Marianne creatable LR0156

The box has been covered with Maja Road 8th April papers. I've edged the lid with some lace and some string pearls. These string pearls are so pretty and great for all your vintage designs. I bought a big bag of assorted pearl strings at The Hobby House's recent 10th Birthday bash, along with perhaps one or two other goodies :)

Hobby House Products used :-

Hobby House topper -Bluebell Wood
Hobby House Die Cut Mat & Layer Kit - Bluebell Wood
Hobby House Self Adhesive Pearls - 4mm Snow White
Hobby House Lace
Hobby House Rhinestone Sparkler - Chocolate Aurora
Hobby House Mulberry Roses - Wedding Day medium
