Anything Goes DT - Coffee Break/Food

Good morning.....

Hope you are all well and not too disheartened that the sun has turned to showers!
It's still quite mild here so I've not had to dig out my wooley jumpers yet.

Today at Anything Goes we have a new challenge starting for the next fortnight and it's

Coffee Break / Food

I'm not a big coffee drinker, although I love the smell of it, I'm more of a tea girl.
Good job we live in Yorkshire because Yorkshire Tea by Taylors is made on our doorstep.
The kettle is always on in our house :)

Here's my card using Lili of the Valley's Tea Party stamp.

I've made my card as a thank you card by adding a Whimsy ticket. The papers are Prima Rondelle. I'm really liking their papers at the moment. They're just so pretty.

The card has been embellished with mulberry roses, a lily and a sweetheart flower. The tag was cut using DooHickey Heart tag and the clock is TH weathered clock. I've also added a few pearls, some lace and a string of flower pearls.

The image has been coloured with copics.

Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair : E50, E53, E43, E57
Pinks : Rv000, R81, R83, R85
Hat : E30, E31, E33, E35
Teapot & Cup : R000, R01, E93, E95 YG61, YG63

The inside has also been decorated with Rondelle paper.

I just want to say a really big thank you to all my followers and people who have left such lovely comments on my cards recently. I really do appreciate it. I feel like I'm starting to find my style and becoming more confident with my colouring and layouts.

Thank you so much.

I would like to appologise if I don't manage to leave you a comment. At the moment things are quite busy for me. This week my eldest son is competing on at least 3 days at National Swimming Championships in Sheffield. We will be leaving the house at 5.45 am and not getting back until maybe 8 pm.

In between that we are gutting and redecorating my craft room. I can't wait to get it all decorated and some lovely cupboards and a big long worksurface put in. This doesn't mean to say it's going to be neat, but I'll try.

Lynne's website for the Craft Den is still undergoing contruction so if you need anything just give her a call on 0114 234 0732

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges

Creative Creations - Anything Goes
The Cutie Pie Challenge - Pretty in Pink
Eclectic Ellapu - Anything Goes
Pink Gem Challenge - Charming (cup & saucer charm)

Happy Crafting

Big Hugs,

Hi everyone. I'm back today with my card for the new Divas by Design Challenge. This week it's a nice easy one. The theme is 'Flowers'.

We're sponsored this week by Lili of the Valley.
Have you seen they've just released some more super cute stamps as well as sketch pads. I'm liking the look of those cute vintage boys. Just great for male cards!

Anything Goes DT - Mail It!

Good morning blogger friends....

Hope that you've had a lovely weekend and this weekend's a bank holiday so more time for crafting!

My Mum and Dad went home on Sunday after a 10 day stay. It was lovely to see them both looking so well and I'm missing my Ironing Fairy already (thanks Mum x). Sadly with some much snow and bad weather they didn't get to visit many places. Hopefully next time will be better.

I'm back with you this morning because we have a new challenge over at Anything Goes. This fortnight the challenge is 'Mail It!'. So we want to see letters, postcards, stamps or anything to do with mail.

My card uses a lovely image by Krista of Saturated Canary and she's called Pack Light.

I've made another shaped card using a Go Kreate die. The papers are by Prima. I bought 3 Prima pads at Harrogate from The Hobby House, and they're gorgeous. These are from the Nature Garden collection. The edges have been distressed with Walnut stain and stitched.

Pack Light has been coloured with Copics:

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R21
Hair: E50, E51, E97, E99, E59
Top: YR000, YR00, YR02
Skirt: G20, G21, G94, YG99
'Uggs': E41, E42, E43, E44
Top case: E30, E31, E33, E34, E35, E37
Bottom case: YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97
Camera: C1, C3, C5, C7

The Postcard stamp is Grunge Postcard by Lili of the Valley and the Pisa stamp is an old Hero Arts stamp from the International Tour De Luxe stamp box. I stamped the image and then sewed round it with no thread in the machine to get the perforations for the stamp. The flowers are rolled roses and the leaves are cut from Joy Craft Dies.
I'm loving my new Joy Craft dies, they just cut so well and first time!

Dies used:

Go Kreate Frilly #7 large
Joy Crafts : Floral Flourishes Branch with Leaves & Leaves
Marianne Creatables: English Rose & Leaves

Why not pop on over to the Anything Goes Challenge blog and have a look at some more inspiration from my lovely teamies.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Happy Mother's Day...

Good afternoon and Happy Mother's Day to all you Mums out there.

Today I have my Mother's day card for my Mum to show you.

I chose a Lili of the Valley stamp for her. It's one of her favourite stamp companies. Their stand always   manages to lure us with its lovely stamps at the Harrogate Show lol.

This is Emma's Swing...

This is the first non square card I have ever made. I like this shape but it doesn't leave much space to put lots of embellishments.
The papers are yummy Pion Designs and have been machine stitched. They're a mix of Small Leaves and Pink Ornament. Definitely going to invest in some more of these, they're gorgeous.

Emma has been coloured with Copics in a soft pinky/purple.

Copics used:

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R21
Hair: E21, E33, E35, E37, E59
Cardigan and Shoes: RV91, RV93, RV95

Swing: E70, E71, E74, E77, E41, E43, E44
Grass: G20, YG61, YG63

The rest of the card has been decorated with die cuts, which have been distressed with either sandpaper or Walnut stain

Die cuts used:

Go Kreate frilly #5
Memory Box small pinwheel

Checking FB...

Hi Everyone...

Hope you're having a lovely weekend, so far.

Well,  it was back to work for me this week. I had a lovely Christmas break but I have to admit I'm kind of enjoying be back in my usual, all be it hectic, routine.

The second coat of paint on the top landing has done the job. It doesn't look anywhere near as bad as with just one coat. It's not perfect, but the thought of having to put lining paper up and then paint was giving me shivers. Onto the middle landing now!

I've not made any New Year Resolutions as such but I've set some goals. I'm working on 3 at a time.

My first is to de-clutter my house. Which is no mean feat. I've given myself till the end of the year to complete it. Yes it's that big a job!

My second is to exercise 3 times a week. I've set myself till June to be in a regular routine of 30 minutes 3 times a week. So far so good - Monday 30 mins on an exercise bike. Tuesday 1 hour swimming and Thurs 30 mins Run/Walk and yesterday 45 minutes swimming
.
The third is to be more organised. I've put everything into a diary on my phone. That way it's always with me. I've blocked out chunks of time for blogging, housework, exercise etc. I want to plan meals too so that I don't open the fridge and think what on earth can I make for tea tonight! Hopefully, if I'm super organised I'll get more time to play in my craft room. Yay!!

Enough of my waffle ....here's today's card.

My card is made using a fabulous Mo Manning image 'Checking FB' which really reminds me of my very good friend Janice. She is so organised - she's a real whiz with spreadsheets. I've not coloured this image before, but when I saw it I thought of her immediately.

I've followed this great sketch from over at Addicted to Stamps.

She's been coloured with my usual Copics.

Copics Used :

Skin: E11, E00, E000, E0000, R30, R21, BV31
Nightie: YG63, YG61, G20
Purple: BV13, BV02, BV01, BV00, BV000
Peach: E97, E95, E93
Hair: E39, E37, E35, E33, E21
Background: W00, W0, W1, BV0000

The tag was cut using Vintage Tag from Doo Hickey and its sentiment is from LOTV A5 Verses.
The sentiment on the card is also from LOTV (Vintage Sentiments Occasions).
I've just added a few little flowers, from Live and love crafts and Wild Orchid Crafts) to the bottom left corner. It just looked bare without them. The leaves are cut using Marianne Creatables die LR0156.
Lastly the papers are by First Edition from their 'Daydream' 6x6 pad.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Mo's Digital Challenge - Something New (new digi)
Avenue 613 Challenge - Anything Goes
ATCs With Attitude #31 - Add a tag or sentiment/Anything Goes

Saturated Canary - Jules

Good evening blogger friends ....

Well I'm well and truly fed up with this decorating. It's one of those jobs that the more you do.....the more needs doing. When I steamed off the 30 year old paper it brought off bits of paint from underneath too. However, it was just in patches. I've tried sanding by hand and with all sorts of hubbies electric gadgets. The first coat of paint has gone on and it looks awful. I'm going to try another coat over the weekend and if it still looks naff it looks like I'll have to line it or paper it before painting. The drops down the stairs are enormous because it's a Victorian house with high ceilings! Fingers crossed the second coat evens it out.

Today I have a card for you that I've made for a friends daughter. She'll be 17, but is still made about Marie the cat from Disney's Aristocats. I've chosen Saturated Canary 'Jules'. These images are just so fun to colour and Krista has so many to choose from.

The papers are from First Edition - 'Sweet Owl' collection.
The ribbon was made after following a tutorial on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/HowToMakeHairBows). I'm really pleased with the outcome.

I've coloured her with copics. Oh, my new copics came today so that cheered me up. He he.

This is the first time that I've tried a dotted outline. I really like the effect so I think you'll be seeing it a lot more on my cards.

Copics Used:

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, R30
Pinks: R85, R83, R81, RV000
Browns: E44, E43, E42, E41, E40
Greys: C00, C0, C1
Hair: E35, E43, E44, E50, E51, E53
Background: W00, W0, W1

The LOTV sentiment has been stamped onto a Doo Hickey die cut cloud and the flower ribbon is from The Hobby House. I've decorated the inside to compliment the front.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Saturated Canary Challenge #34 - Song Inspiration (Everybody Wants to be a Cat - Aristocats film)
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Thanks for dropping by - Hope to see you again soon.

Hugs,
Janine x

LOTV Festive Fairy...

Good morning everyone. Hope you're having a great weekend.
Took Frazer to Sheffield Institute of Sport yesterday for a day of Volleyball training and whilst I was there I popped in to Meadowhall shopping Centre for a spot of Christmas shopping. Just a few more bits and bobs to get and then I'm there!

Another Christmas card to show you today. This one's a cute LOTV image - Festive Fairy. I've been wanting to buy here for ages and I'm so glad I did. This is her first inking and it will definitely not be her last!

The image was one of my first attempts at colouring with distress inks and I'm quitte pleased with the results. I must admit I've gone back to my copics for the moment, but I shall give DIs another go. Practice makes perfect, so they say.

Here's a close up of her. She's just such a cute image!

Distress inks I've used:

Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo,& Aged Mahogany
Clothes: Peeled Paint, Aged Mahogany & Old Paper
Wings: Tattered Rose
Leaves: Peeled Paint & Forest Moss
Berries: Barn Door
Ribbon: Fired Brick
Snow: Weathered Wood
Outline: Tumbled Glass

I've used the lovely seem binding I got from Live & Love Crafts to finish off the tag and decorated the tree with some rhinestones and snowtex. I've never used that before, it's weired stuff, but very effective. I think I'm going to need to buy some more of those lovely Chrysanthemums from Live and Love Crafts because I can't stop adding them to my cards.

Tools Used:
Go Kreste Concentric Tags #1
Memory Box Holly Vine
Marianne Creatables Tree LR0136

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Lilis Little Fairies - Something New (Ribbon, Snowtex & LR0136 die)
Crafty Ribbons Challenge - Label/Tag big or small
Anything Goes Challenge #82 - Traditional Christmas Colours
Deep Ocean Challenge - So this is Christmas
Allsorts Challenge week 185 - Oh Christmas Tree

Thanks so much for dropping by and the lovely comments you leave.

Off to 'Santa Sunday Lunch' soon. Hope to pop round and visit you when I get back.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Big Hugs,
Janine x

P.S. If anyone can tell me how to get those lovely signatures with the flowers and butterflies that I keep seeing I'd love to make one - Mine's just plain boring!  Thanks x

Friday, 14 December 2012

Good evening, it's Friday and I can't believe another week has flown by. I'm still no where near ready for Christmas, but I'm sure it'll all come together in the end.

I'm here to show you another Christmas card I've made. This is my first Wild Rose Studio stamp and it's called Feeding Robins.

I've chosen traditional reds and greens and the papers are Wild Rose too. They're from Anabelle's Christmas pad. The layout is inspired by Sketch n Stash #102 sketch by Sue.

The image has been coloured by copics and her are the colours :-

Skin: E000, E00, E11, R30
Reds: R32, R35, R37, R39, R59 and tuscan red Prismacolour
Greens: YG00, YG61, YG63, YG67
Browns: E40, E42, E43, E44, E50, E51, E53 and Dark umber pencil

The inside has been coordinated to match. All the papers have been distressed and inked with walnut stain. The tips of the flowers were also coloured up with a bit of victorian velvet so they weren't so stark.
The snowflake is  Marianne Creatable die No LR0185 and I've added a few rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments Challenge - Anything Goes (Christmas)
Copic Marker Europe - A Christmas Card
Anything Goes Challenge #82 - Traditional Christmas Colours
Deep Ocean Challenge #40 - So this is Christmas

Thanks so much for dropping by, hope you have a lovely weekend.

Big Hugs,

Trimming The Tree ...

Hi everyone. Hope you're having a nice relaxing weekend.

I'm here to show you my first Christmas card. It's taken me ages to complete. I wish I wasn't so indecisive. Choosing the papers, embellishments etc has taken forever. There's no way I'm gonna have enough cards by Christmas. I'll just have to save homemade ones for 'special' people.  Looks like it's a trip to WHS for me!

I've used LOTV's Trimming the Tree along with papers from Authentique Paper's Wonder Collection.

They're so cute. They remind me of my three when they were younger.
Here are the Copic colours I've used:

Skin: E000, E00, E11, R30
Red Clothes: R39, R37, R35, R32
Green Clothes: YG91, YG93, YG95
Brown Shorts: E43, E42, E41, E40
Dog: E43, E42, E34, E35

I've embellished the card with a ribbon from my stash and a cute tree charm from Live & Love Cratfs. The flowers are from WOC and Live and Love Crafts.

The image has been cut with a Nestabilities circle die and mounted on their scalloped circle. The holly leaves are part of Memory boxes Holly Vine.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Lilis Little Fairies - Use 3 Dies or Punches
Crafts 4 Eternity - #101 Colour Recipe, Christmas Wishes
PaperPlay Challenges - Week 49 Christmas is coming

Have a great weekend and thanks for dropping by.

Big Hugs,

Mini Bear ...

Well I'm feeling even older ...My daughter passed her driving test last week! She was so excited. At the moment my car is too big for her to drive and insure, but she's dropping lots of hits about us having a smaller car to share. Lol

I thought I'd mark the occasion by making her a card.

I've based my card on sketch #235 over at Sketch Saturday. The image is yet another LOTV cute image, mind you I think they all are. It's been coloured with copics.

The papers are from Nitwits Cottage Charm collection and the inside has been decorated to match. I've used the TimHoltz Hardware Findings die and the L plate is hand drawn.

Copics.

Car: R39, R37, R35, R32

Never Too Old For a Cupcake ...

Hello blogger friends.

Hope the weather is still lovely where you are. It's been glorious here today.

I have a card  to show you today that I've made for my Sister-in-Law. I picked the papers first and then coloured the image to match.  I initially coloured the image with the greens and yellows swapped the other way around. I just didn't like it. Don't know whether it was having green icing that did it - but it went in the bin. I still wasn't sure when I'd finished it , but it's growing on me. I've never done a green/yellow scheme before so maybe it's a little out of my comfort zone.

Anyway enough of my waffle. Have a look and see what you think...

The papers are One Fine Day by Raspberry Road and the image is 'Never too old for a cupcake' by LOTV. I've coloured this cute image in with copics.

The sentiment stamps are also by LOTV. Recipe sentiments and Circular sentiments - For You. Thought the Birthday Recipe went well with the cupcake.
Just talking about cupcakes is making me hungry. lol.

The edges of the leaves and tag have been distressed with 'peeled paint' ink and the flowers are WOC

Until next time..

Computer Guy ...

Good evening bloggers...

Well isn't the weather just fabulous. Hope it holds out for the weekend so we can make the most of it :-)

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments. I do look forward to reading them when I log on.

My card for today is a male card so no flowers again. I think I might be getting withdrawal symptoms.

I've used a digital stamp from Mo Manning for my brother-in-law's card. If you knew him you'd think he'd posed for it :-)  He's a bit of a computer whizz so this is right up his street.

My sister will have a good chuckle when she sees this.

I've used First Edition Up, Up & Away papers. The blues and greens in this pad are perfect for masculine cards. The edges have been distressed in Walnut Stain ink.

The Birthday sentiment is from the new LOTV Vintage Labels - Occasions and is mounted on a sign cut with the Marianne Creatable sign and lamp die.
The tag is shrink plastic with a phrase from an old stamp I had from Clarity Stamps. Just love this saying for men. Mind you who are we to talk with all our craft goodies :-)
I tried twice to get the text clearer but to no avail - oh well.

The card has been finished with matching papers inside.

Card Ingredients.

I am entering my card into the following challenges :

Ok. I'm off to bed now so that I can take my son Swimming training at 4.45am tomorrow. It's a tough sport - 4 early mornings (5 - 7.30am) and 3 nights (5 - 7.30pm). The things you do as a Mum :-)

I haven't been able to get around all your blogs recently, but I shall be paying a visit after work tomorrow.
Until next time. Enjoy the sun.
