Hobby House Midway Reminder

Good morning everyone. Hope you had a good week and are enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend especially as it's lovely and sunny.....yay!

I'm back with a midway reminder for The Hobby House and our challenge this month is

to use a new topper

As always the winner will receive a fabulous Hobby House voucher

I've used a lovely image from the 'Quiet Moments' topper, which is a beautiful Elizabeth Bell image.

I'm really pleased with the final card but unfortunately the photos don't do it justice.

The card base has been cut using a Go Kreate XXL Frilly #2 die and was covered with Nitwits 'Thimbles Too' papers.

The majority of the embellishments are all available from The Hobby House :-
Lace, Raspberry flowers, Cotton reel, Flatback pearls, ribbon, Pearl medallion and Bird Cage charm.

The leaf die is Joy crafts 6003/0027 and the rolled flowers are Dienamics Rolled Daisy and Marianne Creatables LR0163.

Here's a closer look at the topper.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges :-

Delightful Sketches - Bloom (include a flower)
Scrappers Delight - Bloomin' Lovely
Cards Galore - Include your favourite colour (Pink)

Have a lovely long weekend.

Janine x

Hobby House Midway Reminder

Good morning crafting friends, I hope you have a lovely weekend planned.

I'm here to remind you that we're half way through our February challenge so you still have plenty of time to enter our current challenge, which is a nice easy

Anything Goes

You can enter a maximum of 3 times and all you need to do is use at least 1 Hobby House product and mention it in your post

I've used the pretty new topper by Elizabeth Bell called 'Quiet Moments'. They're a lovely combination os pinks, browns and greens - my favourite!

The papers are Nitwits 'Always and Forever' and have been matted onto kraft. The pretty double bow has been made on my bow-it-all (my new favourite gadget) using Hobby House ribbons and a pearl medallion. Unfortunately the photo doesn't really show up the pearl swirl very well. I've also used HH vintage lace and roses as well as flatbacked pearls on the corners.

This is such a pretty topper set and just right for spring, which is hopefully just around the corner.

The die cuts used are Marianne Creatables LR0151, EK success Rock Fern (hiding under the pink rose!) and Cheery Lynn's Kiwi Doily.

Happy Crafting,

Big Hugs,

The Hobby House Midway Reminder

Good morning blogging friends...

Today is the midway reminder for the

and this month's theme is

You can enter the challenge up to 3 times so long as you use at least one Hobby House item which is mentioned in your post and linked back to the item on the website.

Don't forget to pop on over to the challenge blog to see all the fabulous inspiration from the other girls on the team. They have come up with some fabulous and varied creations to help inspire you.

Having seen some of their projects I thought I would try something other than a card and this is what I came up with!

I made a shamballa style bracelet using 3mm ribbon. The technique is the same and there's a really helpful video on the Beads Direct website.

I know, I know, not very classy using a loo roll to photograph it on, but that's all I could think of to use!

The centre heart is a HH charm which I just cut the loop off using wire cutters and the ends of the ribbon are just finished off with little starburst spacers. Jill doesn't appear to have this particular heart, but she has a number of others including double hearts which would look lovely.

Thanks to all my lovely visitors who take the time to leave me such kind and thoughtful comments. This way I can also drop by your blog in return.

Have a lovely weekend.

Happy Crafting,

Hobby House Midway Reminder

Yay, it's the weekend!
I don't know where the weeks are going. Time seems to be flying by and I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet, let alone made enough cards. Think I could end up buying some :(

Anyway I'm here to remind you that you still have time to enter this month's Hobby House challenge
which is  Pearls.

There's a fabulous prize

but remember you need to include at least one item from The Hobby House. Since this month's challenge is pearls that shouldn't be too difficult. Jill has a fantastic array of pearls including the pearl strings, which look great on vintage cards.

I've made a criss-cross card using a lovely Elizabeth Bell image from the Christmas Angels topper sheet.
The base of the card was made using kraft and the design papers are from the Authentique 'Wonder' collection.

I've used a variety of pearls on my card:

Dies used :

Spellbinders ovals and Scalloped ovals
TH Bigz - Hardware Findings
Martha Stewart edge punch

The card has been finished with roses, cherry blossoms and pointsettias, all available from The Hobby House.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Have a lovely weekend.

Hobby House Inspiration

Good afternoon blogging friends...

Better late than never, so the saying goes. I had such a busy weekend that I forgot to schedule my inspiration post for The Hobby House. Anyway without further ado here it is...

This card is cut using a Go Kreate XXL die (Frilly #5). I love making cards that aren't square, it just gives them that bit more interest.

I've used a lovely topper from the Winter Fairy sheet, isn't he cute! I remember when my children used to write long lists to Santa. That was when Christmas was magical. Now with 3 teenagers they just want taxi driving to parties!!

The trees have been cut using a Marianne Creatable tree die LR0136 and the heart tag is by Magnolia. The roses, cherry blossoms, pearl string , flatback pearls and frantage are all available from The Hobby House. To finish off I've used a little dab of Snowtex here and there.

That's it from me today. Just don't seem to be enough hours in the day at the moment.

Happy Crafting.

Hobby House Midway Reminder

Good morning to you all....

Can't believe that it's Saturday already. What a busy week it's been too. Only one more week, then it's half term again. We're definitely well on the way to Christmas and lots of snow if the weather man is to be believed.

Anyway, I'm here to give you a little reminder from The Hobby House. You still have time to enter this month's challenge which is another easy one.

That's it! We just want to see some lovely roses on your project.

Remember there's a super prize up for grabs too.

My card today has lot's of roses: on the image, the paper and the mulberry roses too!
I thought this lovely Whimsy stamp - Wee Florist really fitted the challenge. Isn't she gorgeous?
Really enjoyed colouring her, although the hair did push my colouring skills :)
These Whimsy images are adorable and I managed to get a few more from Jill, at The Hobby House, when I was at the Harrogate show.  So you'll be seeing a few more in the coming weeks.

She's been coloured with Copics

Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, W1, R20
Jeans : B91, B93, B95, W3
Top : R81, R83, R85, W3, E50, E51, E53, E55

Roses : R32, R35, R46, R59
Grounding : W0, W1, W3
Outline : BG0000, BG000

The papers are a mixture of Nitwits 'Crab Apple' and Prima 'Romance'. The Prima papers are lovely because they provide these cute little envelopes to make, with tickets to go inside. The embellishments are all from The Hobby House : roses, cameo, cameo pendants, Lace, pearl string, pearl flourish and a touch of aged rose frantage. The sentiment is Whimsy Everyday Sayings Notables 4 and the Dainty Notables 4 die also from The Hobby House.

Hobby House DT Inspiration

Thank 'Crunchie' it's Friday!

Do you remember that slogan - If you do you're obviously as old as me!

Anyway it's nearly the weekend and this weekend I hope to be moving my stuff back into my craft room. Think I'm going to need to find some good storage solutions to put all my stash into the cupboards.
If you've got any great ways to store your stamps, dies and bits n bobs let me know.

Today I've got a card to show you using another one of those lovely toppers from The Hobby House.

This time I've used an image from the Christmas Angels sheet. These are all by Elizabeth Bell.
Some of them are cut in the same shape as a Go Kreate Frilly #2 and that's what I've used to create the shape for my card.

The papers are First Edition Silent Night and have been edged in Peeled Paint. Those gorgeous snowflakes are by Joy Craft and were given the Frantage treatment.

All the other lovely embellishments are from The Hobby House

Shabby Green Frantage

Remember you still have time to enter this month's challenge over at The Hobby House and be in with a chance to bag yourself a £25 Hobby House voucher.

This month's challenge is to use an image by one of The Hobby House's artists (Mo Manning, Elizabeth Bell, Kenny K or Sylvia Zet). It can be a topper, digi or rubber stamped image. Other than that it's anything you like.
As they say 'You've got to be in it to win it!'

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hobby House Midway Reminder

Good morning blogging friends..

Hope you've got a wonderful weekend planned with more craft time than housework!

Today's card is one I made for the midway reminder over at The Hobby House.

This month's challenge is our Hobby House Artists.

You must use an image from one of the artists stocked by The Hobby House. It can be either a stamp, digi or topper from the following artists
Mo Manning
Elisabeth Bell
Kenny K
Silvia Zet

Apart from our image stipulation it's Anything Goes.

I chose this gorgeous image from the Gingerbread Wishes topper sheet.

The papers are Dovecraft's Back to Basics Christmas and have been distressed with Walnut stain. Embellishments from The Hobby House include roses, Cherry blossom, jingle bells, rhinestone sparklers and Shabby White Frantage.

The rest of the embellishments have been made using die cuts:

Joy Crafts floral flourishes - Leaves
Memory Box Catalina Wreath (with a liberal coating of frantage!)
DooHickey Vintage Tag

The card was the splodge here and there with some Snowtex to give it more of a Christmasy feel.

Here's a close up of the lovely Elizabeth Bell topper.

And a stightly angled view...

Hope you can join us for this month's challenge. There's a fantastic £25 voucher to spend in The Hobby House up for grabs.

Good morning blogging friends...

By the time you read this I shall be travelling back home from a weeks break and ready to finish off my craft room. Can't wait to have it all finished and move back in. I should be able to find everything again!

I'm back today with my card for the midway reminder over at The Hobby House.

Our challenge this month is

Christmas

Why not make an early start on your Christmas cards and also be in with a chance of winning £25 (excluding postage) to spend at The Hobby House. A double whammy :)

I've used a Mo Manning topper from the Christmas Fairies sheet. She's called Christmas Holly Fairy. These toppers are great for making quicker cards as you cut out all the colouring time.

The papers are a magazine freebie and are My Mind's Eye 'Snowed In'. They've all been distressed and inked with Walnut Stain.

All the embellishments have been dabbed with 'Snowtex' and the snowflake die has also had a little frantage.

Dies used :-

Frantage (in the shop)

Wow, that's a long list! Jill has loads of lovely embellishments, as you can see!

The Hobby House - Midway Reminder

Good morning everyone ....

Hope you have a lovely weekend planned with this wonderful weather we're having at the moment.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a little bit cooler than of late, because Leonie and I are taking part in our local Race for Life. We have't done it for a few years, but the atmosphere was fantastic last time.

Anyway, onto my card. It's a vintage card that I've made as a reminder that The Hobby House's 2nd challenge is at it's half way stage. So you still have plenty of time to enter.

Have a look at the lovely inspiration from the team over at The Hobby House Challenge Blog. We'd love to see your take on our challenge.

Remember Jill is offering a massive £25 voucher (excluding postage) to spend in The Hobby House.

Really enjoyed making this card, although it did seem odd not colouring an image.

The image is free from magicmoonlightfreeimages.blogspot.co.uk and they have all sorts of images, so it's worth a browse.

I've used a Go Kreate die to cut the card shape.
I've ordered an A4 die cutting machine so that I can cut slightly bigger cards. Can't wait for it to arrive!

The papers are Prima Romance Novel available from The Hobby House. Although the pad isn't listed on the website, I'm sure if you give Jill a call she'll be able to sort you out.

I've edged the papers with my usual Walnut DI.

The dies I've used are Joy Crafts Floral Flourishes Leaves, Woodware butterfly punch and small EK Success butterfly punch. The small rolled flower has been made using Memory Box's small pinwheel Posie

Here's a close up of some of the details. You can see the gorgeous cameo and pearl strings from The Hobby House which just add that little extra bit of a vintage feel.

Hobby House products used:

Pearl Strings from The Pearls String Collection

If you love making vintage and shabby chic style cards then pop on over to The Hobby House and have a look at all the lovely embellishments Jill has in store, and she's adding to it all the time!

Enjoy your weekend.
