Hobby House Inspiration

Good morning everyone...

It's time for a little Hobby House inspiration today, and I've created a little gift box instead of my usual cards.

Sorry the photos are very good, it looks much better in real life, lol.

The papers are Craftwork cards 'Christmas Post' which give a lovely vintage feel to the project. I've used the sentiment image from The Hobby House's 'Winter Fairy' topper sheet.

The lid was simply decorated with Poinsettia flowers, some Snowtex and edged with one of The Hobby House's lovely pearl strings. I love adding these to projects, they just look so pretty.

Each side of the box was decorated differently.

Top right uses Marianne Creatables LR0136 Christmas tree and was finished with some pearls and Snowtex

Bottom left is simply a let it snow stamp, which has been cut out and fixed on with foam pads.

Bottom right has a 'Silent Night' sentiment from Whimsy Stamps and was cut using their Dainty Notables Die.

The box itself was just cut from a 12 x 12 piece of kraft card and scored so that it just folds together and is all held in place by its lid. I copied the design from a Tesco Belgium Truffle box which I kept because I loved the simplicity of its design. Truffles are long since gone :) !!

Just to let you know...

This month The Hobby House isn't having it's usual challenge. Jill, the owner, wanted to do something a little different in the run up to Christmas.

For full details please visit The Hobby House Challenge Blog.

Basically though you can enter this event with anything you've made, that hasn't already been showcased on our Hobby House Inpspiration Blog, and be in with a chance to win a fabulous prize!

All we ask is that your project contains a Hobby House topper.

Thank You so much for dropping by and for all your lovey comments, I really do appreciate them.

Happy Crafting,

Hugs,

Good morning everyone.

I'm back today with a new challenge over at Divas by Design.
This week we are being sponsored by Delicious Doodles and the challenge is...

I can't believe how close we're getting to Christmas now. I have seriously got to get my thinking cap on for present ideas and go and get them before it becomes manic in town!

The embellishments (ribbon, flowers, pearls and charm) are all from The Hobby House and the die is by Marianne Creatables

Hobby House Midway Reminder

Yay, it's the weekend!
I don't know where the weeks are going. Time seems to be flying by and I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet, let alone made enough cards. Think I could end up buying some :(

Anyway I'm here to remind you that you still have time to enter this month's Hobby House challenge
which is  Pearls.

There's a fabulous prize

but remember you need to include at least one item from The Hobby House. Since this month's challenge is pearls that shouldn't be too difficult. Jill has a fantastic array of pearls including the pearl strings, which look great on vintage cards.

I've made a criss-cross card using a lovely Elizabeth Bell image from the Christmas Angels topper sheet.
The base of the card was made using kraft and the design papers are from the Authentique 'Wonder' collection.

I've used a variety of pearls on my card:

Dies used :

Spellbinders ovals and Scalloped ovals
TH Bigz - Hardware Findings
Martha Stewart edge punch

The card has been finished with roses, cherry blossoms and pointsettias, all available from The Hobby House.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Have a lovely weekend.

Hobby House Inspiration

Good afternoon blogging friends...

Better late than never, so the saying goes. I had such a busy weekend that I forgot to schedule my inspiration post for The Hobby House. Anyway without further ado here it is...

This card is cut using a Go Kreate XXL die (Frilly #5). I love making cards that aren't square, it just gives them that bit more interest.

I've used a lovely topper from the Winter Fairy sheet, isn't he cute! I remember when my children used to write long lists to Santa. That was when Christmas was magical. Now with 3 teenagers they just want taxi driving to parties!!

The trees have been cut using a Marianne Creatable tree die LR0136 and the heart tag is by Magnolia. The roses, cherry blossoms, pearl string , flatback pearls and frantage are all available from The Hobby House. To finish off I've used a little dab of Snowtex here and there.

That's it from me today. Just don't seem to be enough hours in the day at the moment.

Happy Crafting.

Big Hougs,

Anything Goes - Taking a Break

Hello blogging friends...

My post today should have been for another challenge over at Anything Goes with the challenge of
Altered Art or Tags.

A number of our DT members, however,  have been going through some tough times recently so we have decided to take a break until the New Year.
When we come back  our batteries will be recharged and hopefully we should have some new members on the team too.

I made this Christmas tag for the challenge and would still like to show it to you anyway.

The image is Tilda with arms full of presents. She was stamped with Memento Desert Sand so that I could try the 'No lines' technique. This was much harder than I thought and I'll definitely be looking at some Youtube vids before I try it again.

The papers are First Edition 'Silent Night' and they've been distressed and edged with the usual Walnut stain. I've added some Snowtex to create a bit of texture as well as a more wintery feel.

The dies are : Joy Craft 6002/2021 and 6002/2019, DooHickey So wrapped lovely heart, Spellbinders circles and scalloped ovals.

Copics used :
Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, E93
Hair : E21, E25, E29
Hat & Gloves : E40, E41, E43, E44
Boots : E70, E71, E74, E79
Blue outfit : B91, B93, B95, B97

I'd like to enter my tag into the following challenges :

Sweet Stamps - Tags
Magnolia Down Under - Anything Goes

Until next time...
