Hobby House Inspiration

Good morning everyone...

It's time for a little Hobby House inspiration today, and I've created a little gift box instead of my usual cards.

Sorry the photos are very good, it looks much better in real life, lol.

The papers are Craftwork cards 'Christmas Post' which give a lovely vintage feel to the project. I've used the sentiment image from The Hobby House's 'Winter Fairy' topper sheet.

The lid was simply decorated with Poinsettia flowers, some Snowtex and edged with one of The Hobby House's lovely pearl strings. I love adding these to projects, they just look so pretty.

Each side of the box was decorated differently.

Top right uses Marianne Creatables LR0136 Christmas tree and was finished with some pearls and Snowtex

Bottom left is simply a let it snow stamp, which has been cut out and fixed on with foam pads.

Bottom right has a 'Silent Night' sentiment from Whimsy Stamps and was cut using their Dainty Notables Die.

The box itself was just cut from a 12 x 12 piece of kraft card and scored so that it just folds together and is all held in place by its lid. I copied the design from a Tesco Belgium Truffle box which I kept because I loved the simplicity of its design. Truffles are long since gone :) !!

Just to let you know...

This month The Hobby House isn't having it's usual challenge. Jill, the owner, wanted to do something a little different in the run up to Christmas.

For full details please visit The Hobby House Challenge Blog.

Basically though you can enter this event with anything you've made, that hasn't already been showcased on our Hobby House Inpspiration Blog, and be in with a chance to win a fabulous prize!

All we ask is that your project contains a Hobby House topper.

Thank You so much for dropping by and for all your lovey comments, I really do appreciate them.

Happy Crafting,

Hugs,
Janine xx

Good morning everyone.

I can't believe how close we're getting to Christmas now. I have seriously got to get my thinking cap on for present ideas and go and get them before it becomes manic in town!

For my card today I've used the very cute 'Snow Cuddles' by Delicous Doodles.

The embellishments (ribbon, flowers, pearls and charm) are all from The Hobby House and the die is by Marianne Creatables

Hobby House Midway Reminder

Yay, it's the weekend!
I don't know where the weeks are going. Time seems to be flying by and I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet, let alone made enough cards. Think I could end up buying some :(

Anyway I'm here to remind you that you still have time to enter this month's Hobby House challenge
which is  Pearls.

There's a fabulous prize

but remember you need to include at least one item from The Hobby House. Since this month's challenge is pearls that shouldn't be too difficult. Jill has a fantastic array of pearls including the pearl strings, which look great on vintage cards.

I've made a criss-cross card using a lovely Elizabeth Bell image from the Christmas Angels topper sheet.
The base of the card was made using kraft and the design papers are from the Authentique 'Wonder' collection.

I've used a variety of pearls on my card:

Dies used :

Spellbinders ovals and Scalloped ovals
TH Bigz - Hardware Findings
Martha Stewart edge punch

The card has been finished with roses, cherry blossoms and pointsettias, all available from The Hobby House.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Have a lovely weekend.

Hobby House Inspiration

Good afternoon blogging friends...

Better late than never, so the saying goes. I had such a busy weekend that I forgot to schedule my inspiration post for The Hobby House. Anyway without further ado here it is...

This card is cut using a Go Kreate XXL die (Frilly #5). I love making cards that aren't square, it just gives them that bit more interest.

I've used a lovely topper from the Winter Fairy sheet, isn't he cute! I remember when my children used to write long lists to Santa. That was when Christmas was magical. Now with 3 teenagers they just want taxi driving to parties!!

The trees have been cut using a Marianne Creatable tree die LR0136 and the heart tag is by Magnolia. The roses, cherry blossoms, pearl string , flatback pearls and frantage are all available from The Hobby House. To finish off I've used a little dab of Snowtex here and there.

That's it from me today. Just don't seem to be enough hours in the day at the moment.

Happy Crafting.

Anything Goes - Taking a Break

Hello blogging friends...

My post today should have been for another challenge over at Anything Goes with the challenge of
Altered Art or Tags.

A number of our DT members, however,  have been going through some tough times recently so we have decided to take a break until the New Year.
When we come back  our batteries will be recharged and hopefully we should have some new members on the team too.

I made this Christmas tag for the challenge and would still like to show it to you anyway.

The image is Tilda with arms full of presents. She was stamped with Memento Desert Sand so that I could try the 'No lines' technique. This was much harder than I thought and I'll definitely be looking at some Youtube vids before I try it again.

The papers are First Edition 'Silent Night' and they've been distressed and edged with the usual Walnut stain. I've added some Snowtex to create a bit of texture as well as a more wintery feel.

The dies are : Joy Craft 6002/2021 and 6002/2019, DooHickey So wrapped lovely heart, Spellbinders circles and scalloped ovals.

Copics used :
Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, E93

That's it! We just want to see some lovely roses on your project.

Remember there's a super prize up for grabs too.

My card today has lot's of roses: on the image, the paper and the mulberry roses too!
I thought this lovely Whimsy stamp - Wee Florist really fitted the challenge. Isn't she gorgeous?
Really enjoyed colouring her, although the hair did push my colouring skills :)

Good morning blogging friends...

Happy Wednesday to you. It's time for another challenge over at Divas by Design.

This weeks challenge is..

Clean and Simple.

We're sponsored this week by 2 Cute Ink.

For my card I used 2 Cute Inks digi image 'Furry Friends'

It was a little out of my comfort zone not to put any embellishments on my card at all, but I'm really pleased with it. Think I may be making a few more, especially when I'm pushed for time.

The papers are First Edition Spring Feast and have been mounted onto dark brown coordinations card.

These cute little 'guys' were coloured with Copics.

Hobby House DT Inspiration

Thank 'Crunchie' it's Friday!

Do you remember that slogan - If you do you're obviously as old as me!

Anyway it's nearly the weekend and this weekend I hope to be moving my stuff back into my craft room. Think I'm going to need to find some good storage solutions to put all my stash into the cupboards.
If you've got any great ways to store your stamps, dies and bits n bobs let me know.

Today I've got a card to show you using another one of those lovely toppers from The Hobby House.

This time I've used an image from the Christmas Angels sheet. These are all by Elizabeth Bell.
Some of them are cut in the same shape as a Go Kreate Frilly #2 and that's what I've used to create the shape for my card.

The papers are First Edition Silent Night and have been edged in Peeled Paint. Those gorgeous snowflakes are by Joy Craft and were given the Frantage treatment.

All the other lovely embellishments are from The Hobby House

Shabby Green Frantage

Remember you still have time to enter this month's challenge over at The Hobby House and be in with a chance to bag yourself a £25 Hobby House voucher.

This month's challenge is to use an image by one of The Hobby House's artists (Mo Manning, Elizabeth Bell, Kenny K or Sylvia Zet). It can be a topper, digi or rubber stamped image. Other than that it's anything you like.
As they say 'You've got to be in it to win it!'

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Crafting,

Hobby House Midway Reminder

Good morning blogging friends..

Hope you've got a wonderful weekend planned with more craft time than housework!

Today's card is one I made for the midway reminder over at The Hobby House.

You must use an image from one of the artists stocked by The Hobby House. It can be either a stamp, digi or topper from the following artists

Silvia Zet

Apart from our image stipulation it's Anything Goes.

I chose this gorgeous image from the Gingerbread Wishes topper sheet.

The papers are Dovecraft's Back to Basics Christmas and have been distressed with Walnut stain. Embellishments from The Hobby House include roses, Cherry blossom, jingle bells, rhinestone sparklers and Shabby White Frantage.

The rest of the embellishments have been made using die cuts:

Joy Crafts floral flourishes - Leaves
Memory Box Catalina Wreath (with a liberal coating of frantage!)
DooHickey Vintage Tag

The card was the splodge here and there with some Snowtex to give it more of a Christmasy feel.

Here's a close up of the lovely Elizabeth Bell topper.

And a stightly angled view...

Hope you can join us for this month's challenge. There's a fantastic £25 voucher to spend in The Hobby House up for grabs.

Divas by Design DT - Water Theme

Good morning everyone...

Hope you're keeping well and managing to catch the last little bits of summer sun before Autumn arrives.

It was back to work on Monday for me and a whole 8 week helf term to look forward to!

Unfortunately we didn't finish my craft room before I went back, but we're making progress. I'll post some pictures when we're finished. I've got lots of cupboards, but when I suggested that I'd need to buy some more stash to fill them Hubby didn't seem to agree. A girl can try :)

I'm here today to tell you about this weeks challenge over at Divas by Design.
This week the theme is

Water

Lots of different possibilities here. Why not pop on over and get some inspiration from my lovely teamies.

I've used Magnolia's Mermaid Tilda. Shame on me I bought her ages ago and this is the first time she has seen ink.

The papers are En France by Prima and have all been distressed with Walnut DI.
I mounted her behind a Kraft circle with copper brads to make it look like you were seeing her through a porthole window. The background was made following a tutorial on the Make It Crafty website. I coloured Tilda first before masking her and then colouring the background. I added glossy accents to the bubbles to make them stand out

Copics used

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, E21, R20
Hair: E41, E43, E44, E47
Scales : E50, E51, E53, BG0000, BG10, BG11, BV20, BG13
Bubbles: C00, C0, BG0000 & blender
Background : BG11, B00, BG000

Other Ingredients :

Flowers : WOC and The Hobby House
Dies: Magnolia So wrapped lovely heart, Marianne Garden Branch LR0151 and Die-namics Mix and Match Banner
Lace : Live and Love Crafts
Charms : The Hobby House
Gesso splodged here and there

Thanks so much for popping by I really appreciate the visit and the lovely comments you leave.

Until next time

Anything Goes Challenge - In the Garden

Good morning blogging friends...

It's a beautiful sunny morning here, hope the sun is shining where you are.

Today sees a new challenge over at Anything Goes and this fortnight it's...

In the Garden

and we'd like to see some lovely butterflies too.

It's our 100th Challenge today so we would love it if you could join us. We reall enjoy visiting your blogs and see all your gorgeous creations!

My image is Sarah Kay's Bernadette Admiring her Spring Flowers.

I've teamed her with Prima papers from the Zephyr pad. She's been coloured to match the paper, but I'm not sure that I like the end result. It's a little too bold for me.

Copic colours used:

Skin: E000, E000, E00, E11, E21, R20
Top: YR00, YR02, YR04, YR07
Jeans: BG000, BG10, BG11, BG13
Watering Can: C00, C0, C1, C3, C5
Hair: YR20, Y21, YR23, E33, E35
Flowers and Follage: Y38, R81, R83, R85

For the embellishments I've added ribbon, a watering can charm, brad, pearl flourish and a selection of flowers.

The orange doily has been cut using Cheery Lynn's Kiwi Doily DL108. I must have run this through my cuttlebug about 20 times and it's the first time it's cut all the detail out properly! Perhaps I've been using too thick a guage of card before...or maybe it just needs 20 runs through the machine! grrr.

The edges have all be inked with Walnut stain and distressed.

Thank you so much for dropping by . I would love it if you left a comment so that I can pop on over to your blog and repay the compliment.

Off to lay the laminate in my Craft room today. We're getting there slowly.

Happy Crafting,

Big Hugs,
Janine xx

Hobby House DT Inspiration

Good morning Blogging friends.....

I'm still busy decorating my craft room, which is why I've been such a bad blogger recently.

Just popping on today to show you the inspirational piece that I've made for The Hobby House.

It's a small gift bag which I've decorated using another of the lovely toppers which Jill sells at The Hobby House. They're so good to use when time is short!

The papers are by Authentique and are called Wonder.  I've used Magnolia's Heart die tag and Marianne's snowflake LR0185, which I've frantaged with aged white and shabby green.

Here is a list of all the Hobby House products I've used to embellish my gift bag.

Organza Ribbon
Frantage
