Kenny K and Make It Crafty

Hello, hope you've had a lovely weekend.

The weather has been mixed here with some strong winds. Spring just doesn't feel like its quite made it!

I've got a card today which mixes Kenny K and Make It Crafty digis.

The scene was created using Make It Crafty Urban Collection and Kenny K's Ryder Cole & J-Cool.

I've made the card for Leonie's boyfriend so it needed to be CAS. Don't think an 18 year old boy would appreciate lots of embellishments!

All I've done is add a few pearls, a button with twine and some hardware finding die cuts using a Tim Holtz die. The sentiment is 'Calenders' by LOTV.

My inspiration for this theme comes from a card that Elaine Hughes made back in 2011. Her colouring just blows me away! Definitely something to aspire to.

It's been coloured with my usual Copics.

Divas by Design DT - Flowers

Hi everyone. I'm back today with my card for the new Divas by Design Challenge. This week it's a nice easy one. The theme is 'Flowers'.

We're sponsored this week by Lili of the Valley.
Have you seen they've just released some more super cute stamps as well as sketch pads. I'm liking the look of those cute vintage boys. Just great for male cards!

I've used LOTV Cake Glorious Cake for my card. I'm ashamed to say that this is the first time she has seen ink. The sentiment is 'Sentiments Recipe' also LOTV.

The yummy papers are Pion Design 'Blue Wings' and the edges have been distressed with Walnut Stain.

She's been coloured with Copics.

Anything Goes DT - Add Some Metal

Good morning blogger friends...

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend. The sun has been shining here, so let's hope that spring is definitely on its way.

I had a great day on Saturday. I travelled to The Craft Den in Sheffield for an altered mirror workshop with Hels Sheridan. The workshop was fantastic. I've not done any altered art before so it did take me out of my comfort zone, but was great fun. A few of the other DT members were there too;
Nikki, Tamara and Annette, so it was lovely to meet them. Annette had even travelled from Sweden!  I mustn't forget Lynne, the owner of The Craft Den and the Anything Goes Challenge blog who was so welcoming that we could have kept on chatting all evening.

Anyway onto this weeks challenge at Anything Goes and its
 'Add some metal'

This was the card I made Leonie for her 18th Birthday. She's mad about the Harry Potter books and films!

The images are by Tiddly Inks and are Wizard and Wizardette.
You get two wizards, one with glasses and one without. So Harry and Ron!

I got the idea from Alyce who has done a fantastic colouring video using Wizardette to show how to colour glowing objects. As soon as I saw it I new I had to see if Tiddly Inks did a wizard image so that I could do a Harry Potter theme. I even put on a little 'Hedwig' Metal charm and the telegram he delivers.

I've coloured them with Copics :

Skin: E000, E00, E11, E21
Harry's Hair: E43, E44, E47, E49
Ron's Hair: YR000, YR02, YR04, E15
Hermione's Hair: E13, E15, E18
Scarf: Y11, R15, Y17 R22, R46, R59
Capes: W1, W3, W5, W7
Trousers: C1,C3, C5, C7
Wand Glow: YG00, YG05, YG23, YG67

They were just so fun to colour too and they're my first Tiddly Inks.

The papers are Prima Rondelle and have been distressed with a Tim Holtz tool.
The flowers and leaves have all been made with dies and all the papers were edged with walnut stain.
The sentiment is from LOTV.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges...

Tiddly Inks Challenge - Distress, emboss or stitch
Dream Valley Challenges #54 - Happy Birthday
Lacy Sunshine Challenge - Anything Goes
2 Sisters Challenge - Anything Goes
4 Crafty Chicks - Charms
Sarah Hurley Challenges - Projects with Character

Thanks for dropping by.

Hugs,

Leonie's present and a bit of DIY

Good afternoon blogging friends,

Just a quick post today. I've no card to show you but realised that I hadn't blogged the bracelet which I made Leonie for her 18th. It was weird dropping her off at the pub with her friends last Saturday!

I first saw this bracelet on Marcea's blog. It just looked so pretty. This is my first attempt at making a beaded bracelet like this. Marcea has so many pretty bracelets on her blog and I'd love to have a go at a few more but I've been given that look by Hubby that you just know means 'Please don't start anything else' Lol

The DIY is going very slowly, but I thought I'd show you a few pics. The house was a small B&B before we bought it. All the bedrooms have a little 'en-suite', I use the term loosly, which have a tin shower and loo in. The sinks are all in the main part of the room.
Well we've decided to take it all out and redecorate so that I can have more accessible space and a 'tidy' craft room.

You can see the wall to the 'en-suite' in the right of the pic.

My current desk area.

The book shelves where all my stamps are stored and the paper storage, an old mailing pigeon hole cupboard from a previous place I worked.

The en-suite and sink.

Here the paper's been stripped off the walls and ceiling and we've started demolishing the studded wall.

It's going to take a lot longer than the school holidays to do this, but it's going to be worth it in the end.

That's all from me today.

I'm off to Sheffield tomorrow for a Hels Sheridan workshop with some of the Anything Goes Challenge DT at The Craft Den. Really looking forward to meeting everyone and a bit of crafting too. Then Sunday is back to the DIY.

I've had a revamp of my blog too. Really liking the new feel. Just a few more tweaks when I get time. It's from Plumrose Lane. There are lots of free backgrounds and for a small fee you can get a custom banner too. Sharon was so helpful in liasing with me over the banner. She has lots of easy to follow tutorials on how to make the changes. So even if you're not a techie it's easy to do.

Sorry I've rambled a lot. For a quick post it's sure turned out to be a long one!

Have a lovely weekend and thanks for dropping by. I really do appreciate it.

Big Hugs,
Janine xx
