Anything Goes DT - Coffee Break/Food

Good morning.....

Hope you are all well and not too disheartened that the sun has turned to showers!
It's still quite mild here so I've not had to dig out my wooley jumpers yet.

Today at Anything Goes we have a new challenge starting for the next fortnight and it's

Coffee Break / Food

I'm not a big coffee drinker, although I love the smell of it, I'm more of a tea girl.
Good job we live in Yorkshire because Yorkshire Tea by Taylors is made on our doorstep.
The kettle is always on in our house :)

Here's my card using Lili of the Valley's Tea Party stamp.

I've made my card as a thank you card by adding a Whimsy ticket. The papers are Prima Rondelle. I'm really liking their papers at the moment. They're just so pretty.

The card has been embellished with mulberry roses, a lily and a sweetheart flower. The tag was cut using DooHickey Heart tag and the clock is TH weathered clock. I've also added a few pearls, some lace and a string of flower pearls.

The image has been coloured with copics.

Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair : E50, E53, E43, E57
Pinks : Rv000, R81, R83, R85
Hat : E30, E31, E33, E35
Teapot & Cup : R000, R01, E93, E95 YG61, YG63

The inside has also been decorated with Rondelle paper.

I just want to say a really big thank you to all my followers and people who have left such lovely comments on my cards recently. I really do appreciate it. I feel like I'm starting to find my style and becoming more confident with my colouring and layouts.

Thank you so much.

I would like to appologise if I don't manage to leave you a comment. At the moment things are quite busy for me. This week my eldest son is competing on at least 3 days at National Swimming Championships in Sheffield. We will be leaving the house at 5.45 am and not getting back until maybe 8 pm.

In between that we are gutting and redecorating my craft room. I can't wait to get it all decorated and some lovely cupboards and a big long worksurface put in. This doesn't mean to say it's going to be neat, but I'll try.

Lynne's website for the Craft Den is still undergoing contruction so if you need anything just give her a call on 0114 234 0732

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges

Creative Creations - Anything Goes
The Cutie Pie Challenge - Pretty in Pink
Eclectic Ellapu - Anything Goes
Pink Gem Challenge - Charming (cup & saucer charm)

Happy Crafting

Big Hugs,
Janine xx

Divas by Design DT - Anything Goes

Good morning cafty friends...

Can't believe where the time is going lately. We're already over half way through the year and I'm starting to see a lot more Christmas cards on people's blogs!

Well I'm off from work for the summer now - just as the sun seems to have gone it's holiday too !

I've been trying to get on top of my DT work because I need to spend my time decorating and fitting out my craft room with some new cupboards and a worktop. There's so much to be done, but it will be worth it in the end. We started it at Easter!!!

Today is the start of another challenge over at Divas by Design and this week is an easy peasy

Anything Goes.

We are sponsored this week by the lovely Dilly Beans
The Design Team were given some images to work with and I chose Skull Bow Girl Framed. She's part of the Big Eye Art Collection.

She was a joy to colour, especially those gorgeous big eyes. I think I will definitely be buying a few more of these.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out. I just love those big eyes.

I followed this month's sketch over at CLP Challenges.

The papers are London Market by Pinkpaislee and are from The Hobby House. They've been distressed with a TH tool and edged with Walnut Stain DI.

She's been coloured with my lovely copics :

Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E11, E21, R20
Eyes : R20, YG95, YG97 (Whites C1, C0, C00 )
Lips : R32, R37, R39
Bow : C3, C1, C0  R81, R83, R85
Hair : E21, E23, E25, E29

Other ingredients are :

Spacers, Pearls, Pearl flourish, Floral lace, Brad and Aged Rose Frantage all from The Hobby House (I told you I'd bought a few goodies at their Birthday bash, Lol  )

The flowers are from WOC and the heavily frantaged dragonflies are a DooHickey die.

Then finally I added a little Gesso. For me I have my heart in my mouth hoping I'm not going to ruin hours of work with a few dabs of gesso. I guess it's a confidence thing.

Do pop on over to the challenge blog and see the fab inspiration from my fellow teamies.

Hope you can join us.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges :

CLP Challenge - Sketch 60
Bearly Mine Challenges - Anything Goes
Craft Room Challenge - Heat Embossing (used frantage)
Bunny Zoe's - Pink and White
Craft-Dee Bowz - Anything Goes with handmade bow
Cutie Pie - Pretty in Pink

The Hobby House - Midway Reminder

Good morning everyone ....

Hope you have a lovely weekend planned with this wonderful weather we're having at the moment.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a little bit cooler than of late, because Leonie and I are taking part in our local Race for Life. We have't done it for a few years, but the atmosphere was fantastic last time.

Anyway, onto my card. It's a vintage card that I've made as a reminder that The Hobby House's 2nd challenge is at it's half way stage. So you still have plenty of time to enter.

Have a look at the lovely inspiration from the team over at The Hobby House Challenge Blog. We'd love to see your take on our challenge.

Remember Jill is offering a massive £25 voucher (excluding postage) to spend in The Hobby House.

Really enjoyed making this card, although it did seem odd not colouring an image.

The image is free from magicmoonlightfreeimages.blogspot.co.uk and they have all sorts of images, so it's worth a browse.

I've used a Go Kreate die to cut the card shape.
I've ordered an A4 die cutting machine so that I can cut slightly bigger cards. Can't wait for it to arrive!

The papers are Prima Romance Novel available from The Hobby House. Although the pad isn't listed on the website, I'm sure if you give Jill a call she'll be able to sort you out.

I've edged the papers with my usual Walnut DI.

The dies I've used are Joy Crafts Floral Flourishes Leaves, Woodware butterfly punch and small EK Success butterfly punch. The small rolled flower has been made using Memory Box's small pinwheel Posie

Here's a close up of some of the details. You can see the gorgeous cameo and pearl strings from The Hobby House which just add that little extra bit of a vintage feel.

Hobby House products used:

Pearl Strings from The Pearls String Collection

If you love making vintage and shabby chic style cards then pop on over to The Hobby House and have a look at all the lovely embellishments Jill has in store, and she's adding to it all the time!

Enjoy your weekend.

Big Hugs,
Janine xx

Anything Goes at Anything Goes Challenge

Good morning blogging friends...

Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful sunny weather we're having at the moment. Just hope it continues into the school holidays.

I'd like to give a big warm welcome to my new followers and thank all my visitors who take the time to write such lovely comments. This then means that I can hope on over to your place and return the compliment.

I'm back today with the new challenge over at Anything Goes, and this week it's

Anything Goes

A nice and easy one. So whatever floats your boat!

This is a card I've made for my Nephew. They're tricky these boys aren't they. How do you embellish a card when a 19 year old won't want flowers, ribbons and lace!

I chose Mo Manning's Johan as he loves playing the guitar. Not sure my sister loves it, especially when her hubby joins in on the drums!!

I've coloured him with my usual copics.

Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20
Case : C9, C7, C5, C3, C1
Coat : E11, E13, E15, E07, E09
Jeans : B91, B93, B95, B97
Jumper : E40, E41, E42, E43, B000, B91, B93
Bag : YG61, YG63, YG67
Hair : E21, E23, E25, E29

The papers are actually Christmas ones from Dovecraft Back to Basics Christmas. They've all been distressed with a TH tool and Walnut DI.
I've kept the embellishments simple by just using some twine, Wooden buttons, a guitar charm, a TH ticket and a Magnolia cloud die.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges.

Here come the Boys - Anything Goes
Pink Gem Challenge - Spots/Stripes or both
Sweet Pea Stampers - Men and Boys
A.R.T. Challenge - Masculine Birthday

Happy Crafting.

So we'd like to see charms on your lovely creations.

I've used the lovely 'Ragged Angel' by Mo Manning. She's just so sweet.

Hobby House- Inspirational Post

Good morning Blogging friends...

Today I'm here to show you the last piece that I made for my pre DT selection over at
The Hobby House

Isn't he such a cute little squirrel !
He's from the Bluebell Wood topper sheet and he's been mounted using one of the Hobby House die cut mat and layer kits. They co-ordinate beautifully with the toppers so you don't need to try and find papers to match.

The flowers are mulberry roses and a rolled daisy cut using a Die-namics die. The leaves are Marianne creatable LR0156

The box has been covered with Maja Road 8th April papers. I've edged the lid with some lace and some string pearls. These string pearls are so pretty and great for all your vintage designs. I bought a big bag of assorted pearl strings at The Hobby House's recent 10th Birthday bash, along with perhaps one or two other goodies :)

Hobby House Products used :-

Hobby House topper -Bluebell Wood
Hobby House Die Cut Mat & Layer Kit - Bluebell Wood
Hobby House Self Adhesive Pearls - 4mm Snow White
Hobby House Lace
Hobby House Rhinestone Sparkler - Chocolate Aurora
Hobby House Mulberry Roses - Wedding Day medium

If you want to see more of The Hobby House products then pop on over to the website and take a peek.

I'd like to enter my box into the following challenges:-

Bearly Mine Challenges - Anything Goes
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes
C is for Challenge - #1 Flowers
Crafty Boots - Anything but Square

Happy Crafting.

Anything Goes - Checks, Stripes and Flowers

Hello blogging friends...

This morning I'm here to tell you about the new challenge over at Anything Goes.
This fortnight our challenge theme is...

Checks, Stripes and Flowers

My card today uses a lovely Hannah Lynn image called Wynndy. These are lovely images to colour. Next time I think I'll have to try coloured hair. I've seen a number of people in blogland colouring them with pinks and purples, and they look great.

The papers I've used are from the Maja Road Vintage Spring Basics pad again. I did try to find other papers but these were the only ones I have that had checks and stripes that complimented each other.

Copics used :-

Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, R20
Hair : E21, E23, E25, E29
Blues : BG0000, B91, B93, B95, B97
Sun : Y23, Y35, Y38
Leaves : G20, G21, G94, G99
Reds : R32, R35, R46, R59

I've used a little bit of frantage on the papers as well as distressing them with Walnut stain and a TH tool. Think I can probably be a bit more liberal with it next time. Wasn't quite sure how much to use. I also covered my corner with it too.

I've also added a bit of Gesso to some of the embellishments. Really enjoyed doing this, so I think it will be making an appearance on a few more cards.

Hope you can join us for this challenge. We love to come and visit your blogs and see all your lovely creations.

The Craft Den website is currently undergoing some renovation, so if you need anything just give Lynn a call on 01142 340 732.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:-

Paper Playtime - Red, White and Blue
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything Goes
Avenue 613 - Anything Goes or International Colours
That Craft Place - Flowers
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge - Say it with Flowers
