Tiddly Inks You and Me

Hi everyone...

Firstly I'd like to say a very warm welcome to all my new followers. Thank you so much for choosing to follow my blog and I hope that you enjoy your visit.

Today I have a card which I made for a swimming coach who's had a big part to play in the swimming successes of both Leonie and Brandon. She recently got married and I really wanted to make her a card to mark the occasion.

I ordered the Tiddly Inks image You and Me a little while ago just for this card, but when I saw Alyce pair it with Alison's arch image recently, it just seemed perfect.

It was only when I was editing these photos that I realised I'd forgotten to add the heart shaped doily I had inked up ready. What a numpty! Never mind, the lady loved her card.

She has kept the one I made for her as a thank you for all her hard work when Brandon moved out of her squad. It's nice to know that people don't just bin them after all our hard work.

One of my friends brings out all the Christmas cards I've made over the years and displays them all every Christmas. Talking of which I really must make a start or I'll never be ready. Even if it is 6 months away!

You and Me has been coloured with copics

We're sponsored by Flat friends this week and the DT got to play with some of their images. Why not pop on over to the Divas by Design Challenge blog and have a look at some more Flat Friends images that my lovely teamies have used and get some inspiration too.

I've used the image Rainy Days on my card and teamed it with First Edition Up, Up and Away papers. Thought they would go well with the image as they have cute little clouds on them!

The image has been coloured with Copics and I've added some Glossy Accents for the rain drops. You can just about see them in the photo.

Anything Goes Challenge - Homemade Backgrounds

Good morning blogger friends...

I'm back today with my DT post for Anything Goes and this fortnight our challenge is to
make your own background paper.

Well I had an image of what I was going to create and in the end it was nothing like it!

I started off thinking I was going to make a tag and use an old Acey Deucey image - a bit kind of altered art. It just wasn't turning out to be anything like I imagined and just wasn't right somehow, so it ended up in the bin!

In the end I made a card using Tiddly Inks Alison Witch.

I started again by making the background paper. First I applied Vintage Photo ink directly from the ink pad onto my craft mat and spritzed it with water. Then I dabbed my paper on top and then used a heat gun to set it before applying the Brick Red in the same way. I tried a little Dylusions Teal spray on a separate piece of paper, but it accidentally went on my background too. I quite liked the effect so that's how it's stayed.

Alison Witch has been coloured in my usual Copics.

Skin : E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11
Hat & Dress : W7, W5, W3,W1, W0, W00
Hair : E18, E15, YR07, E07, YR04, YR000
Red : R59, R29, R46, R22

I finished off my card using some flowers from WOC, a bow with a lovely Rhinestone crystal from The Hobby House and the flourish is garden branch from Marianne Creatables.

I've never made my own background before and I must confess it stressed me out a bit because I'm not familiar with the techniques. It certainly was a challenge but I'm pleased with the results.

Hope you'll join us. I can't wait to see what you make and hopefully learn from some experts!

Remember if you're short of crafting goodies do have a look at Craft Den's website, Lynne has been adding lots more to the site.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Craft-Dee Bowz - Anything Goes with handmade bow
Heart 2 Heart - Creature Feature
No Matter Which - Things with Wings

Happy Crafting.

Big Hugs,
Janine xx

Anything Goes Challenge - Shaped Cards (No Squares)

Good morning everyone.
Hope you had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend (UK). Well the sun was shining for most of the weekend and it certainly feels like summer is on the way.

I'm back today with a DT card for the Anything Goes Challenge and this fortnight our challenge is

Shaped Cards (no squares ).

I'm really enjoying making these shaped cards at the moment. I'd quite like to get some of the bigger Go Kreate dies that make cards bigger than 6x6. I think I may need to get an A4 die cutting machine though. If you've got any advice on which ones are good I'd love to hear your comments.

Today's card uses the gorgeous Hannah Lynn 'Melissa' image.
I've made this for my niece who's mad about Huskies. This was the closest I could get.

The card shape has been cut using Go Kreate Frilly #7 large and the papers are Prima 'Rondelle'. All the papers have been edged with Walnut stain.

As usual the image has been coloured with Copics.

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, R21
Hair: E21, E23, E25, E29
Cape: R20, R21, R22, R35, W3
Wolf: W0, W1, W3, W5
Sky: BG0000, BG000, Blender

I've also used the following dies to embellish my card.
Marianne - Garden Branch
Memory Box - Small Pinwheel Posie
DooHickey - So lovely wrapped heart

If your after some more goodies for your craft stash, remember to pop on over to Craft Den and have a look at the lovely things Lynne has in stock.
